Bayer and World Environment Day in Pittsburgh

World Environment Day 2010 in Pittsburgh all began on October, 15, 2009, when Bayer Corporation CEO Greg Babe made the announcement at the Children’s Museum in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh-based Bayer Corporation, a long-time United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) supporter, was instrumental in the decision to host the event in Pittsburgh. Bayer has participated in World Environment Day in North America since the event’s inception and the company began cooperating with UNEP on youth environmental projects in Asia in the late 1990’s. Bayer is the first company in the world to forge a long-term partnership with UNEP in the area of youth and environment.
